This blend is named after the Meloria shallows which lie two and a half miles off Livorno and now form part of a marine park.
Created for people who prefer strong flavours, the dominant component in this blend is arabica (75%), with a high percentage of dry processed beans, combined with a wet processed Indian robusta, also top quality, which gives Meloria some of its special characteristics.
With its high percentage of dry processed arabica, the coffee made from this blend is strong, complete and full-bodied, with a compact, long-lasting cream. The carefully selected robusta contains, gives the blend a light vanilla aroma and a persistent chocolate aftertaste.
